Admit it, if you’re born in the years before 1990, chances are, you don’t appreciate internet challenges.
And who can blame them, especially when you have challenges like these coming out?

Or the Momo Challenge (which, by the way, is a hoax)
Which, incidentally, caused the original artwork to be destroyed, leaving the poor artist with just one eyeball.
But just like any other things on earth, there are also some good challenges out there that make living fun for everybody.
Like this challenge that we’re going to talk about.
The Vans-Throw-Challenge
Here’s how this challenge work: you got to have your own Vans shoes.
Then, you film yourself throwing it into the air and seeing it land.

You’ll “pass” the challenge if the shoes land the right way up.
How It Started
This challenge (or trend) started with a Twitter user, @Ibelievthehype, who filmed a pair of Vans shoes being thrown into the air and landing face up on the floor.
The user wrote: “Did you know it doesn’t matter how you throw your vans they will land facing up?”
Here, you can watch the video here:

With that proclamation, a movement started.

At the time of writing, the tweet has received 259K likes and 96k retweets.
Other Vans Owners Started To Do The Same Thing
Other users started to try it on their Vans shoes (which we get, it’s like a hidden secret) and posted it online.
We have another Twitter user, @BryceMckenney1, trying it on all seven pairs of his shoes consecutively.
I learned today that no matter how you throw your vans they always land right side up… pic.twitter.com/1um0UXpbxW

Yes, we have a fan.
And you see all sorts of patterns before the pair of Vans shoes landed the right way up.

Some even got a cute little helper to help them with the experiment.

One even said that you don’t need to throw the shoes.

Although I’ll wager that if the originator had done this, it probably won’t be as viral. There’s just something cathartic about throwing stuff, yes?
Why so Magical?
So, the question of the day: why is this phenomenon happening?
Vans is a skaters’ brand. And when you look at the shoe, you’ll notice that it has a heavy sole and a light top.
So, bad news, guys, it’s not just Vans who are magical this way.
Any pair of shoes that has a similar weight distribution like Vans will have the same result.
