A 40-year-old male pedestrian has died after a traffic accident in the Central Expressway (CTE) tunnel, near the Cairnhill Circle exit, towards the Ayer Rajah Expressway, on Thursday morning (29 June).

The footage also showed two white vehicles—a sedan and a sport utility vehicle—parked in the lane, surrounded by police officers, an ambulance, and a white sheet visible on the pavement.
The police said that a 35-year-old male car driver is assisting with investigations.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and police had responded to the accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on the Central Expressway (CTE) heading towards the Ayer Rajah Expressway, which occurred around 6am on Thursday.
A 40-year-old pedestrian was declared dead at the site by an SCDF paramedic.
It’s unknown how the pedestrian could’ve been on the expressway; there isn’t any walkway on any expressway, and it’s not legal to be walking on the expressway.
Two Other Fatal Accidents Happened in the Early Morning 3 Days Ago, Too
At around 2am on 26 June, a 22-year-old motorcyclist from Singapore passed away after losing control of his bike and falling off a highway flyover in Malaysia.
The motorbike had skidded along the highway and was found around one kilometre away from the rider’s body.
On the same morning, at around 6am, a 55-year-old driver skidded his car along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) at the slip road entering the Central Expressway towards the Ayer Rajah Expressway. He crashed into a canal and died from the accident.
