On Monday morning (26 June), a 55-year-old driver skidded his car along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) at the slip road entering the Central Expressway towards the Ayer Rajah Expressway.
He crashed into a canal and died from the accident.

55YO Man Dies After His Car Falls into a Canal at Along PIE
At about 4:53 am on 27 June, the car reportedly self-skidded along the PIE towards Tuas.
Upon arriving at the scene, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) discovered an overturned car partially submerged in the canal adjacent to the slip road.
The SCDF’s elite Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (Dart) dispatched divers to perform an underwater search operation. The driver, who needed to be removed from his seat, was ultimately found.
A paramedic from the SCDF declared the driver dead on the scene.

It’s unknown how the accident occurred.

Singaporean Motorcyclist Flung Off JB Highway on The Same Period
In the early morning hours on the same day, a tragic incident occurred involving a Singaporean motorcyclist falling from a highway.
The motorcyclist, a 22-year-old Singaporean riding a rental bike, met with a fatal accident on a highway overpass in Malaysia. While navigating the Eastern Dispersal Link highway towards the land checkpoint in Johor Bahru, he tragically lost control of his vehicle and fell.
The incident, which occurred approximately at 2 am, resulted in immediate loss of his life at the scene.
