Recently, Mediacorp actor, Zhang Ze Tong, made the headlines for his dubious scene in a Channel 8 medical drama.
In the scene, the doctor attended to an emergency and proceeded to provide CPR to the patient by jumping onto the stretcher.
However, the funny thing, which was pointed out by netizens, was that instead of using his hands to conduct the CPR procedure, he bobbed his head.

Zhang Ze Tong Responds to Scene
In response to the weird scene, Zhang Ze Tong read out a few comments online on Mediacorp’s TikTok account as to why he could not perform actual CPR on the “patient”.

This is because when performing actual CPR, there is a chance that the receiver might suffer from broken ribs due to the force exerted on the chest.
One comment also suggested that they used a different, more closed-up camera angle instead of a full-frame angle.
In reply, Zhang says that the director did consider this option. However, they decided not to go with it because they were afraid that the audience would not sense the movement of his character when performing CPR.
He then goes on to mention that in the future, he will take note to not move his head as much.
Attempts Correct CPR on Another Actor
In a funny scene crafted for Zhang to attempt the correct CPR method, he invited Herman Keh, another actor, to be his “patient”.
Herman’s face did not seem too pleased with a voiceover “O oh” to complement his facial expressions.

Zhang then got Herman to lie down on the hospital bed, where he would go on to attempt an actual correct CPR.
He explains the steps such as interlocking his hands and the position of where they should be.
After which, he informs Herman that he will be pressing down onto his chest now and does so.
This sends both men into a burst of laughter. Herman then explains that Zhang cannot completely press his hands down as he jokingly states that his heart might stop.
Upon hearing this explanation, Zhang was still adamant about trying the CPR again, to which Herman states that if Zhang tries it, he might actually die.
