Air India Flight Forced to Make Emergency Landing in Phuket After Bomb Threat

An Air India flight from Phuket to Delhi made an emergency landing on 13 June 2025 after a bomb threat note was discovered on board.

Flight AI379 departed from Phuket International Airport at 9:30am local time (10:30am Singapore time). According to flight tracking service Flightradar24, the aircraft made a wide loop over the Andaman Sea before returning to Phuket. It landed safely at 11:38am.

The bomb threat was written on a note recovered from the plane’s lavatory. An Airports of Thailand official said the passenger who found the note was being questioned.

Emergency Response and Passenger Safety After Bomb Threat Note Found

Passengers were escorted off the plane according to emergency procedures. A preliminary search of the aircraft found no explosive device.

The incident occurred one day after the crash of Air India Flight AI171 in Ahmedabad, which killed more than 260 people on board and on the ground.

The black box from the crashed AI171 flight has been recovered. Investigators are analysing its data to determine the cause of the fatal crash.
