Angry AMK Lady Gets No Break As Ex-Lover Sends Another Debt Collection Firm After Her

The new year might’ve just started but for some, it started on a bad note.

Remember this lady?

Yes, the AMK auntie, Ms Tan, who went viral for the gutsy way she stood up to debt collectors.

Here’s a flashback for those who haven’t known about Ms Tan’s story:

She Got Into An Affair With a Married Businessman

She was involved with a 64-year-old businessman she met in 2014.

Both parties were married but got together anyway.

Then, she had borrowed $250,000 from the man to buy a house but after the man got involved with another woman, their relationship soured.

New Lover Asked For Money To Be Returned, Told Daughter About Her Affair

When she had gotten the $250,000, her ex-lover didn’t say that he wants her to return the money.

However, she claimed that his new lover wants him to get back the money and even called her daughter to reveal her affair to the family.

Her ex-lover had even called up her husband to demand his money back.

And now, it’s known that he employed not one, but at least two debt collection firms to get $350,000 from her.

Well, the wave hasn’t exactly passed when debt collectors turn up at the front of her kway chap stall to demand repayment of the money. Again.

However, they weren’t from King Alliance Debt Recovery. This time, they’re from The One Debt Recovery Pte Ltd.

On 4 Jan, the debt recovery firm uploaded a Facebook post with this caption: “The AMK kway chap stall you are unlucky we are handling your case too (sic).”

According to Shin Min News Daily, this debt collection firm was engaged by the female secretary of the businessman, the AMK auntie’s ex-lover.

She had engaged them to recover $200,000 from Ms Tan and her husband.

One Debt Recovery told SMDN that it was for a ‘break-up fee’ but didn’t comment further.

Debt Collectors Obeyed Police Instructions

According to the debt collection firm, Ms Tan wasn’t at the store when their debt collectors visited the store.

Only the husband was there and he reportedly said, “You come then come. I am used to it.”

Police officers were called to the scene and they requested for the debt collectors to leave. So they did.

At Most, We’ll Just Apply For Bankruptcy

Ms Tan reportedly said that it’s useless to visit her stall or look for her husband.

He has no money, she said, and the stall isn’t even under his name.

She asserts that if her husband was dragged into this matter, they’ll simply apply for bankruptcy.

“There’s nothing to be embarrassed about.”

Wah, this auntie, fierce seh.
