Apparently, GrabFood Riders Are Happy with Small Orders

Our laziness knows no bounds.

The more conveniences our modern world enables, the more the daily struggle of convenience vs thrift, character building (in the form of self-control) and a decreased risk of obesity: to deliver or not to deliver.

Temptation won out for many, and some took GrabFood’s lack of a minimum order very seriously in the process.

If you expected the GrabFood rider to delivery your one pathetic cup and forget all about it when it’s out of their hands, you’re wrong.

Documenting Tiny Orders

As reported by MS News, a couple of drivers got together in jest to share their smallest orders gotten on the job via a thread on Facebook (GrabFood Delivery Rider Singapore).

It started on Sunday (26 May) with one rider sharing the single cup of hot coffee he was tasked to deliver. It cost $2.70.

Then another rider shared his tiniest order – large fries for $3.70.

And someone ordered plain prata.

Back to beverages, a customer out there craved milo (of the brought right to their doorstep variety) badly enough to pay more than 2 bucks extra for it.

And buns.

It goes on, but you get the gist.

Small Orders are Easy

We’ve come to the part that will address the title.

As you’d already know, many of the comments in the thread suggest that small orders are a joy to deliver since they’re “light and easy”.

Fuss-free too, so money comes easy squared.

Honestly, even if it wasn’t in the title you probably could have guessed that ordering less can’t be a bad thing. But some riders have their gripes.

Small Orders are Hard/A Waste of Everything

One of them has problems with keeping the single order hot, not sure if it’s in the sense that one item will lose heat faster than a bunch of items to be warm together, or it’s in the sense that someone ordering a single item would expect the order to be as perfect as possible.

And you know what, if you did feel like getting someone to deliver your fries might be excessive, this driver agrees.

Overall, it Doesn’t Matter

Maybe more and more people will start getting into the habit of paying for every little culinary whim brought straight to them.

Maybe it’ll be so normal that you won’t have to worry about the possibility of your 2 buns being splashed on a thread of people laughing about it.

But if you were worrying that the GrabFood crew will hate you for your small orders, don’t. Most think it’s a blessing, some are a little miffed, but in the end, no one’s being unreasonable so it’s all good.
