The Earth is dying, and many of us couldn’t care less about it. Take me, for instance. I could very easily just bring a metal fork and spoon to my Goody Feed office instead of using a plastic pair every day for lunch, but I refuse to do so because I’d be too lazy to wash them afterwards.
I could very easily bring a paper or tote bag to the supermarket, but I can’t find it within me to open the drawer and take it out before leaving the house.
Yes, I suck.
Not everyone is as lazy as I am when it comes to the environment, though.
Penang Uncle Creates Beautiful Garden Out Of Abandoned Land, But Jealous Neighbour Destroys It
A lady called Li Peng told World of Buzz about a heartbreaking incident involving her neighbour in Penang.
According to Peng, there was an abandoned piece of land in their residential area covered with bushes.
Snakes and mosquitoes were getting it on like a wanton all over the land, so one of the residents decided to turn the area into a farm to prevent the mosquitoes and snakes from breeding.
Long, hard work
The uncle spent a great deal of time sprucing up the area by planting vegetables, fruits, and flowers.
He even encouraged his fellow neighbours to pick the fruits of his labour and bring it back home.
“Few of us actually enjoyed his home-grown sweet papayas,” Li Peng said.
After a while, the abandoned land started looking like the cute garden the uncle wanted it to be.
