We’re Arguing More Nowadays & Here’s The Hidden Reason Why

Don’t you find it interesting how we’re arguing a lot more nowadays? By “we”, I’m referring to everyone in general.

Perhaps it was due to the emergence and popularisation of the internet that many people are becoming more aggressive.

Hey, once you’re hiding behind a screen, everything you say is inconsequential, right?

(Keyboard warriors reporting for duty!)

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words- well, words can seriously hurt another person too, you know.

With anonymity being prevalent on online platforms, people can simply say what they want without being worried about the consequences. It’s not entirely a bad thing, since it also encourages free speech and all.

However, due to anonymity, trolls roam the realms of the internet, treating the place as their hunting ground.

Like this one:

Although, I’m fairly certain if you make these people meet each other IRL, they would tone down a whole lot.

Instead of saying things like “I’ll smash your head into a wall!” like what they usually type on Facebook and doing it for real…

They’ll probably just judge each other silently.

(Thinking of 100 ways to maul your face – without doing it)

Why is that so?

We at the Goody Feed team think that it’s because of the consequences.

Nowadays, all you get from an argument are just bruised egos instead of real bruises. This, in turn, compels you to be more combative than usual.

After all, what could go wrong, right? It’s not like the other person will drive from Boon Lay to Tampines just to look for you and continue arguing in person. In fact, a common citizen wouldn’t know where you stay unless you provide your home address.

As such, you’re generally safe behind your screen.

However, think about what you’re doing. The world is already messed up as it is. We could definitely do with less hate going around the internet.

Don’t let the internet make you combative. Be the change you want to see.

Speaking of which, do “see” our video below regarding the same topic! It might just provide some insight(and fun) to this otherwise serious topic!

Since you’re here, why not watch a video about a guy who lodged a Police report here in Singapore because he was friendzoned? Seriously. Here, watch it and do remember to share it (and also subscribe to Goody Feed YouTube channel)!
