The coronavirus outbreak has prompted people all over the world to be wary of one thing: other people’s bodily fluids.
Which is why masks and hand sanitisers are invented, right? To keep everyone’s bodily fluids and germs to themselves.
Unfortunately, some people seem hell-bent on causing mass panic via one of the most lethal weapons in the world today: saliva.
Auntie ‘Purposely’ Spat Repeatedly on Every Seat in an SBS Bus
A woman has been caught red-handed in a video spitting on the seats of a double-decker bus not once but twice.
The person who witnessed the incident is named Flo and graciously shared the video with Stomp to warn others.
The incident took place on SBS Transit bus service 51 last Thursday (2 April) at around 2.25pm.
According to Flo, the woman moved between seats on the upper deck of the bus and “purposely” spat on them.
In the video, the auntie can be seen spitting on the seat in front of her at least twice.
The person who recorded the video didn’t just stand there and film though.
Flo spoke to her, “Auntie you can’t spit like that. You can’t do that.” However, she did not respond and remained silent.
She also took to Facebook to share more about the incident.
According to the Facebook post, the auntie had “moved from behind and spitted on every seats.”
At one point, she had come near Flo and only stopped when she began filming.
The bus driver then noticed that she had been standing on the bus for a while and came up to find out what was going on.
Later, the bus driver warned the aunty that if she continued to spit, he will have no choice but to call the police.
Flo’s sister, who spoke to Stomp said, “The bus captain was aware of the incident and informed someone via his walkie-talkie.”
“I hope to notify the public via Stomp so that the auntie will not do the same thing again.”
Why Do People Keep On Spitting
This was not the only spitting incident that has happened amidst the sensitive coronavirus situation.
Just last month, three teenagers were arrested for spitting over the railing in a Bugis shopping mall.
A shopper had lodged a police report after he was hit by the spittle.
In another incident, three 15-year-olds were investigated after SBS Transit lodged a police report following spit being found on the buttons of a lift at Rumbia LRT Station.
In yet another incident, spit was found at two places on the mirrors and buttons inside the lifts of HDB blocks in Punggol Walk and Ang Mo Kio Street 32.
It seems like some people never learn. Let us all do our parts to fight the coronavirus together.
