A&W S’pore Engaging People with a Sneak Peek at Their Alleged Menu

Hey, guys, we’ve got some great news for you!

Remember last year when we broke the news about A&W possibly coming back to Singapore?

Well, there’s an update on the A&W-Singapore relationship.

Sort of.

While it’s nothing official, four listings for A&W Singapore appeared on Jobstreet on 20 May 2018.

Specifically, listings for the Assistant Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Manager, Area Manager and Training Manager positions.

Experience needed to apply for the jobs ranges from 1 year (Assistant Restaurant Manager) to three years in various functions, depending on the position applied for.

Here are some of the job scopes for those interested in applying:

Assistant Restaurant Manager / Restaurant Manager

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the restaurant as well as the sales and profitability of the store.
  • Making sure that staff in the store are trained and comply with A&W Quality, Service, Cleanliness, Safety and People (QSCSP) standards.

Training Manager

  • Responsible for providing support and training to restaurant managers and staff on complying with QSCSP or Cleanliness, Hospitality, Accuracy, Maintenance, Product Quality and Speed (CHAMPS) standards.
  • Formulate training programmes for the company
  • Keep training materials up to date.

Area Manager

  • Responsible for optimizing profits and sales in the territory they’re in charge of
  • In charge of manpower deployment within the territory assigned so that restaurants are able to function smoothly
  • Solve major problems and prepare reports for each restaurant within the territory

You can check out the full listings here. (Or here, here…okay, maybe here too. Oh, wait, here also!)

But here’s one thing that might make Westies sad.

The locations of the jobs are in the east.

So it’s highly likely that their flagship outlet (or first outlet) could be located there.

But don’t worry.

This is A&W. They won’t just stay in the east. Oh no, they’ll likely be scattered across Singapore.

After all, they’re looking for Area Managers.

And based on my 2-year stint in a fast food chain at the pay of just $3.50 per hour, area managers are in charge of specific areas of the country.

For example, north, south, east, west.

So all we got to do is cross our fingers and wait patiently.

And in the interim, make do with the single A&W at Bukit Indah.

Plus, A&W is a business and they know, better than anyone, just how important the west is.

I mean, we’re not known as the future second CBD of Singapore for nothing, right?

But That’s Not All

We know Jobstreet because we’re one of their clients (yay, to look for staff), and two of the things we can tell you is that firstly, the company is in regular contact with the portal (at least for us). Secondly, it’s recommended to have a profile page with everything (so as to stand out from the crowd).

Guess what? Because of that, A&W has given us a sneak peek into what’s in their menu in their “Company Photos”.

Here we have the iconic ice-cream waffles…

…not just the best, but the best-est curly fries in the whole Milky Way…

Okay, win liao. This time A&W win liao.

Now, we just have to wait.
