If you’ve watched The Babysitter before, you’ll know something:
Babysitters aren’t always Nanny McPhee.
Fortunately, however, real-life babysitters tend to toe the ground, a notion would surely relieve the most worried parents.
But of course, just like how black sheep exist on a farm…
There will always be that special case that makes you question the existence of babysitters altogether.
Milk? Hah, hold my beer
Just recently, a video of an Indonesian woman has been making its rounds on the Internet, and it’s not hard to see why it’s so viral:
In the video, she was seen allegedly feeding a toddler, not milk, but ****ing beer from a can.
And the reason?
Apparently, so that the child will fall asleep faster.
According to Coconuts, the woman, who seems to be in her 20s, could be seen feeding a beer can to the toddler, before indulging in some herself.
“Everyone else gives [toddlers] milk, [but] I’m giving [her] beer instead,” she can be heard saying. Note that the original audio, which was in Sundanese, had been translated.
And to further encapsulate the horror of it all, the toddler can be seen voluntarily reaching for the can after the babysitter set her down.
Well, seems like toddlers aren’t exempt from the toxic allure of beer too.
A Mother’s Rage
Apparently, the beer that the babysitter and the child ‘indulged in’ in the video was a local brand of beer called Bintang.
And while it’s impossible to know whether the can actually contain beer, it seems that the mother of the child, at the very least, is sure that her toddler was given beer to consume.
In fact, the mother was none other than the one responsible for the video’s upload, as she reportedly wished to shame the babysitter in a fit of rage. The video, however, has since been taken down from her Facebook page.

And so… what now?
While we don’t actually know whether the mother lodged a police report against the girl, we do know that the girl’s reportedly a friend of the mother from the boarding house (ko-kosan), which they reside at.
For the sake of the mother and child, however, I hope that all goes well, regardless of which action they ultimately choose to pursue.
