53Y/O Man Jailed 23 Years for Sexually Exploiting Girlfriend’s 2 Young Daughters

When you bring your new partner into your home as a divorcee, you’re hoping that they get along with your children.

This relationship between a new adult figure and your children is often fraught with problems and conflict.

In this case, however, the new partner didn’t try to replace the children’s father, but sexually exploited them instead.

In 2010, a 53-year-old barber got into a relationship with a woman who had divorced her husband the previous year.

The woman had stopped living with her husband when she gave birth to her younger daughter.

In 2008, her older daughter was admitted into a children’s home as the mother had no means to take care of her.

The younger girl was also admitted into the children’s home in 2011.

Between August and September 2015, the older girl ran away from the home and stayed with her mother and the man.

It was at this time that the man started mistreating his partner’s young daughters.

He first squeezed the older daughter’s breasts when she was 17 and told her not to tell her mother about it.

Fearing that she’d be sent back to the home, she complied.

Then, between June 2017 and December 2018, the man started exploiting the younger girl when she was just ten.

He preyed on her when he was alone with her at home.

The abuse started with him squeezing her breasts, and later progressed to penetrative acts. The girl continue to be targeted when she was between ten and 12 years old.

On one occasion, he looked out of the window to make sure that his girlfriend had left the vicinity of the block before he told the girl to go to his room.

He told her not to tell anyone about it, but fortunately, she later told a school researcher what he had done.

Both girls “suffered alone”, not knowing that the other had also experienced the same horrible exploitation.

Jailed for 23 Years

After suffering in silence for years, the two sisters finally got justice.

Yesterday (28 Jun), the man was sentenced to 23 years’ jail by the High Court.

Since the man cannot be caned as he’s over 50, the sentence included a six-month term in lieu of 24 strokes of the cane.

In May, the man pleaded to two counts of aggravated sexual assault by penetration in relation to the younger girl, and one count of outrage of modesty in relation to the older girl.

Another nine charges were taken into consideration, including rape and aggravated sexual assault by penetration.

The abuse has taken a toll on the younger teenager’s mental health, as she engaged in acts of self-harm whenever she recalled what happened. She was found with self-harm marks on her forearm and wrist when the abuse was discovered.
