Bedok Point mall officially closed its doors on 1 July 2022, and will be demolished to make space for a new condominium.
Here’s why.
Lost Customers to Bedok Mall
It officially opened back on 26 April 2011, and was promoted as a food haven that operated up till the wee hours of the morning.
It had reportedly attracted over 900,000 customers monthly during its first few months of operation.
However, as the years passed by, Bedok Point started losing customers to Bedok Mall, which was bigger, had a wider variety of offerings, and was more conveniently located next to the bus interchange and MRT station.

Will Be Demolished and Redeveloped
Plans for Bedok Point to be redeveloped were announced back in July 2021. Mall tenants were reportedly informed about these plans in early 2021.
According to the tenants, this news was expected, especially since they were often losing customers.
A video of the mall’s last day was posted on TikTok on 30 June 2022, showing workers taking down the signboards of shops.
It will be demolished and replaced by the condominium Sky Eden, which will have commercial units on the first floor and residential units on the other floors.
It will span 17 stories, and boast a total of 158 residential units in one block.
The redevelopment is expected to be done by 2026 or 2027.
