Benz Hui is many things: an established actor, a permanent resident of Singapore, a descendant of royalty… the list goes on and on.
Yet despite his vast “resume”, there’s one thing he’s not.
A father-in-law.
Or at least, not until the very near future.
Benz Hui’s Daughter is Now Engaged to a S’porean
Benz Hui is officially set to become a father-in-law.
On 19 October 2021, his 24-year-old daughter Charmaine Hui announced her engagement to the public.

Her fiancé is Shane Sim, a 26-year-old Singaporean who’s currently taking a Master’s degree in Hong Kong.
Apparently, they met six years ago, and Sim met Charmaine’s parents just months after.
Though they’re very much in love, their relationship hasn’t always been smooth-sailing. They once went through an amicable breakup, but got back together after one or two months.
Meanwhile, Benz Hui himself has confirmed the news with glee.

He has also confirmed Sim’s eligibility, stating that Sim has treated Charmaine in an honest and caring manner.
As for a marriage date and a prospective grandchild, Hui stated that there’s no rush. “Marriage is a matter between the young people, I’m not anxious!”
It seems that a wedding will be held in both Hong Kong and Singapore. Though unconfirmed, the proposal reportedly occurred in Hong Kong.
Hui and his wife were reportedly present to witness it.
Subsequently, renowned Hong Kong celebrities have also sent their well wishes.
“Congratulations,” actress Charmaine Sheh commented on his Instagram post.
The likes of Alice Chan and Priscilla Wong have also congratulated Hui.
Cafe
You may be intrigued to know that Charmaine is already a boss as well.
Just last year, she unveiled Cafe Bakeaholic in Yishun. Apparently, the business venture had been partly funded by her father.
Though the pandemic proved to be a menace, she managed to garner positive reviews and as such, is confident enough to contemplate the opening of more cafes.
Meanwhile, Hui has expressed his support for his daughter’s ventures.
