As you all know, most countries are in the midst of winter except for Australia and New Zealand, while we are experiencing a deluge of rain.
Want to go for a short holiday to experience winter?
How about Bangkok?
Yes, Bangkok.
Bangkok, our favourite go-to place for good food and shopping is experiencing a cold front of sorts.
According to Channel NewsAsia, Bangkok will be experiencing morning temperatures of 14-17 degrees Celsius between Tuesday (19 Dec) and Thursday (21 Dec).
Why is Bangkok experiencing winter
It is typical for the northern region of Thailand to experience mild winter at this time of year, but for the past year or so Bangkok has jumped on the bandwagon.
Maybe it’s global warming? #justsaying
Bangkok Post quoted the Meteorological Department—the temperature will drop by 3-5 degree Celsius in the northern and central parts of the country, including Bangkok.
This is caused by the high-pressure system from China—they are experiencing full-blown winter over there.
Netizens’ reaction
Most netizens were excited with the cooling weather, I mean who wouldn’t, especially when Bangkok is perpetually hot.

Thoughts
I can’t help but worry about this cold snap. On the surface, it looks exciting but there could be deep-seated issues contributing to this.
*coughs* global warming *coughs*
For us, well, the day Singapore’s temperature drops below 20 degrees is the day I would eat crow.
