A 37-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly attacking two men with a cleaver at a food stall outside People’s Park Complex in Chinatown.
The incident, which police believe may be linked to relationship problems, left two food stall employees injured.
A third person who tried to stop the attack suffered minor injuries.
Here’s what happened.
Bloody Scene at Chinatown Food Stall
The violent incident occurred around 8:45 PM on Wednesday (19 Mar 2025) at a cooked food stall outside People’s Park Complex in Chinatown.
When reporters arrived at the scene, police had cordoned off the area in front of and behind the location. A large number of officers were present, with forensic personnel photographing evidence.
The floor inside the food stall was covered in blood splatter, with bloodied tissues, evidence markers, and what appeared to be a box for a cleaver visible at the crime scene.
An eyewitness who asked to remain anonymous said they suddenly heard shouting during the incident.
A woman was yelling loudly, though the witness couldn’t make out what she was saying.
The witness then saw employees from other shops rush in to help before police quickly arrived at the scene.
Two Men Injured, Woman Arrested
According to sources, the woman involved allegedly brought a cleaver to “seek revenge” due to relationship issues, with the two male employees becoming unintended victims.
One man suffered knife wounds to his abdomen and shoulder, while the other cut his finger. A third man who stepped in to help received minor injuries while pulling the woman away from the victims.
Police confirmed they responded to a call for assistance. A spokesperson stated that two men, aged 41 and 30, were taken to the hospital while conscious.
Another 42-year-old man suffered minor injuries but declined hospital treatment.
The 37-year-old woman was arrested on the spot on suspicion of intentionally causing harm with a dangerous weapon.
Police seized a cleaver as evidence from the scene, which was bagged and documented by forensic officers. The suspect was seen being escorted from the premises in handcuffs by police officers.
Police have not released additional details about the possible relationship connections between the suspect and the victims, though preliminary investigations suggest the attack may have been targeted rather than random.
Investigations are still ongoing.
