Boon Lay Murder: Couple Worked in the Same Company But No One Knew They Were Married

Last Thursday (27 August), an alleged murder took place at the void deck of Blk 211 along Boon Lay Place at around 6:30pm.

24-year-old Chinese National Cui Huan has been charged with killing his wife, Liang Xueqiu.

He’s now remanded and his case has been adjourned to this Friday (4 September 2020).

As the incident had happened in public, the woman was found lying motionless at the void deck.

A passer-by, a student and part-time food delivery rider, had called the police, and bystanders were crowding the victim by then.

Officers from both the Criminal Investigation Department and Jurong Police Division arrested the man within three hours of the reported incident.

The victim was sent to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, but succumbed to her injuries at 9:58pm.

No much details about the couple have been revealed, but now, Wanbao got to know that the couple isn’t just your typical couple.

Couple Has Worked in the Same Place But No One Knows They’re Married

According to the Chinese daily, the Chinese couple had come to Singapore to work last October.

The couple apparently works in the same F&B company, and here’s the thing: no one in the company knows that they’re a married couple.

They, however, work in different departments: the husband works in the catering department while the wife works in the western food department.

Both of them have been described as being “hardworking” in their work. Everyone in the company only knew about their marital status from the news.

Didn’t Stay Together

According to a colleague, the company has arranged accommodation for their workers in Boon Lay and Jurong West since COVID-19 hit, and as they weren’t known to be a couple, they lived in separate places.

The victim lived in Blk 211, the place that she was found dead, while her husband lived almost 1.5km away.

The husband had gone back to his house after the incident and was arrested in his house three hours after the incident.
