Yesterday, footage of a horrifying accident gripped the nation.
A red Mercedes vehicle crashed through a railing and hit a few vehicles at high speed, including a motorcyclist, waiting at a traffic light junction.
This happened about 11:10pm on 23 December at the junction of Tampines Avenue 1 and Tampines Avenue 10.
The accident resulted in 1 death and 4 injuries.
The person who passed on is a 59-year-old driver who was unconscious and conveyed to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Four other men, aged between 22 and 38, were conscious when sent to Changi General Hospital.
One person was trapped in a car and had to be rescued using hydraulic rescue equipment.
One male driver, a 33-year-old, was initially reported to be arrested for drink-driving, but the police has made an update, clarifying that he was arrested for dangerous driving causing death.
However, it’s understood that he has been drinking as well.
A netizen has come out to say prior to the accident, the red car has been racing.
Now, a video footage showing several cases racing at high speed has emerged.

Footage of Alleged Cars Racing That Led to Tampines Accident Show How Fast They Were Moving
A few hours after the footage of the accident went viral, an in-car footage of two cars speeding across a junction at high speed was uploaded.
The two cars were moving so fast, a person gasped in fear.
In addition, it also appears that the cars were modified, given that should the red car be a Mercedes A180, the engine shouldn’t be so loud. In fact, cars in Singapore won’t be that loud unless they’re supercars.
Police investigations pertaining to the accident are still ongoing, and I’m sure I’m not the only person who hope that the driver of the other car that’s racing will be arrested, too.
