Roblox has had a chokehold on many of us at some point in our lives and is very much like every other addictive computer game.
You may want to return to this obsession once you discover that Changi Airport is now on Roblox.
It may sound silly when you can hop on a train and have a real-life experience at the airport, but joining the game has perks that will leave you starry-eyed when you read on.
The First Virtual Reality Airport
Changi Airport will be the first airport in the world to provide an interactive and immersive online experience on Roblox, dubbed ChangiVerse.
Various games and prizes will be offered within the ChangiVerse, as well as re-enactments of real-life locations around the airport.
The iconic Jewel will be featured in the virtual world, where you can view the waterfall and even enter the popular glamping tents.
If teleporting is a superpower you’ve always wanted, you can somewhat make that dream come true by teleporting from Jewel to other locations through portals.
Terminal 3 will also be included in the ChangiVerse. It is the gateway to Changi Kart and other mini-games such as Baggage Expert and Check-in Champs.
In Terminal 3, you can chat with a special character, Max, and other non-playable characters (NPCs).
If you’ve reached Level 7 in the game, you will be granted access to the VIP lounge, where you can redeem exclusive collectibles.
If you complete the game Obby Expert, you can go up the control tower and get a bird’s eye view of Airport Boulevard, from which you can observe skytrains, Jewel, and the popular Jurassic Mile.
Finally, you will be able to visit the plane hangar in the game, which is exciting as it is out of bounds to visitors in real life.
Now, you can view planes firsthand instead of just observing them from the viewing deck and even design your own aircraft.
Games in Store for You
Changi Kart might be the most thrilling of them all, where you hop into a go-kart and zoom through Changi Airport to fight for the top spot in the leaderboard every week.
As you dodge obstacles along the karting route, you can collect purple Butterfly tokens.
For Baggage Expert at Terminal 3, you will have to interact with NPCs at the Departure Hall to begin the game, which entails matching the piece of baggage to the passenger’s description.
Check-in Champ will need you to serve as real Changi Airport staff as you assist with check-ins.
Golden Butterfly tokens are hidden at five secret locations, and collectibles such as luggage and plane skins can be redeemed with Butterfly tokens.
Amazing Prize to Be Won
From now till 30 September, you can participate in a contest where you first must fight through Changi Kart.
If you reach the top of the leaderboard, you can win two Singapore Airlines Economy Class round-trip tickets.
This prize will be given to the monthly leaders of the Changi Kart game, and you can choose where you want to go.
Overseas winners will win a trip to Singapore to experience the airport firsthand.

Changi Airport’s Accolades
Recently on 15 March, Changi Airport was awarded the World’s Best Airport in 2023 at the World Airport Awards and was also recognised for having the best dining and leisure amenities.
It overtook Doha’s Hamad International Airport, the world’s best airport in 2021 and 2022.
Previously, it won the award for eight consecutive years, from 2013 to 2020.
It has also won the Best Airport award 17 times at the Readers’ Choice Awards held by DestinAsian.
