Chatuchak Singapore

The world’s first Chatuchak Night Market outside of Thailand will be returning for two months in 2023, from 7 February to 2 April.

The open-air market will be at The Grandstand in Turf Club, and will be open daily from 4:30pm to 10:30pm.

The 2023 edition of the market boasts over 180 different vendors on a rotational basis, selling a whole variety of food and items. Expect to get anything from street food to handicrafts and even antiques at the market

And if that isn’t good enough, some vendors will even be flown in from the original market in Bangkok.

Here’s some of the food you can look forward to.

Grab a classic Thai milk tea for just $4 – it’s bound to be even better than the Thai milk teas you’re getting at pasar malams.

Further, you’ll get to watch the tea-pulling performance by the vendor from Thailand’s southern province of Satun. Be sure to catch him in action with his “teh tarik pulling” skills.

If you’re craving some prata, try out the Thai Roti Prata.

It’s not your usual 2am supper prata. It’s thinner, lighter and chewier – definitely worth trying.

The rotis are freshly prepared on the spot using butter instead of oil, and drizzled afterwards with generous amounts of condensed milk.

The Banana Roti is only priced at $5!

Familiar with the E-Sarn sausage? These are grilled sausages made from fermented meat, rice, and sometimes vermicelli noodles. It’s usually served with cabbage, chilli peppers and dilled ginger.

The mixture of meat and rice makes it a perfect meal on its own.

Other dishes worth trying include the Thai prawn vermicelli and the iconic Mee Korat from the province of Korat.

Beyond just the usual Thai delicacies of pad thai and tom yum soup, everyone is bound to find something new with the selection of delicacies available at Chatuchak Night Market.

Think Turf Club’s a little too far? Don’t let that stop you.

There will also be complimentary parking or free shuttle buses from Botanic Gardens, Clementi and Toa Payoh to take you to and fro the market.

Mark your calendars, and get ready to feast in 2023!
