More Enforcement Officers Will be Deployed in Attractions During CNY Weekends

It seems that when it comes to long weekends and crowds, the authorities here in Singapore aren’t taking any chances.

More Enforcement Officers Will be Deployed in Attractions During CNY Weekends

For the long weekend ahead, more safe-distancing ambassadors (SDAs) and enforcement officers (EO) will be deployed at Singapore attractions, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) announced.

Members of the public are advised to cooperate with them.

 “We urge member of the public to cooperate with our SDAs and EOs, who are there to ensure the well-being of our community.” – Ms Jean Ng, Executive Director of STB

Making Sure Businesses Obey The Rules

The SDAs and EOs aren’t just there to keep individuals in line, but businesses as well.

Attractions in Singapore are only able to accommodate 65% capacity, and visitors are encouraged to book their visit in advanced online.

Safe management measures like safe-distancing and a rigorous cleaning and disinfecting regime must be implemented.

They must also have good tracing capabilities, such as enforcing SafeEntry.

Businesses Gearing Up For Long Weekend As Well

Jewel Changi is one such attraction prepared for the long weekend.

They’ll be using a virtual queue management system at the Manulife Sky Nets – Bouncing.

If you’re interested in visiting this weekend, take note that you’ll have to scan a QR code to get a queue number if it’s full.

When you’re able to enter, you’ll be notified via your mobile phone and have 15 minutes to enter the attraction.

Changi Airport also added that they’ll deploy more manpower to manage the expected crowds.

Jewel Changi isn’t the only one, either and RWS has a nasty surprise in store for people who decide to walk in.

If you’re looking to go to either USS or the S.E.A this weekend, make sure to make advanced reservations on their website, even if you’ve purchased your admission passes through authorised agents.

A spokesperson for RWS said that walk-ins will not be permitted this CNY weekend.

The same goes for Gardens By The Bay, which requires visitors to reserve their time slot online before visiting.

All attractions spoken to said they’re deploying, or have deployed, additional manpower for crowd management.
