Coco Lee has been in the news recently after her death.
First, it was to announce her death and battle with depression. Then came speculations about her relationship with her allegedly estranged husband.
There were subsequent reports about her wake and how her husband was left out of the obituary name list.
Now, there are reports about her husband allegedly fighting for a share of Coco Lee’s assets.
Here is what is happening.
Coco Lee’s Husband Refutes Allegations That He Is Fighting for Her Assets
Those who know Coco Lee as the Hong Kong musician, actress, dancer and singer who made a name for herself internationally may be saddened to see all this drama surrounding the late entertainer.
In particular, Lee’s husband, businessman Bruce Rockowitz, was accused of fighting for a share of Lee’s assets.
Rockowitz and Lee were reportedly estranged and on the verge of divorce before Lee committed suicide.
However, Rockowitz has emerged and claimed that there is no truth to these allegations.
A Hong Kong publication, HK01, reported that Rockowitz denies that he is fighting for some assets from his late wife.
He released a statement saying that such rumours are made maliciously to spread false news. The rumours were also intended to embarrass and smear his name.
On top of denouncing the rumours, Rockowitz also asked for privacy and space while his family dealt with the tragedy of their recent loss.
Rockowitz said that he and his wife maintained financial independence even after marriage. He respected Lee’s arrangements about her finance and was not involved in her money matters.
To prove his point, he also expressed that he would be taking legal action through his lawyers if the rumours smearing his name were not removed.
It looks like Rockowitz is serious about distancing himself from these nasty rumours painting him as a gold digger.
She Had Reportedly Left the Bulk of Her Fortune for Her Mother
For those who believe that Rockowitz is trying to secure a portion of Lee’s fortune, it may be because of the rumours that Lee left her fortune to someone else other than Rockowitz.
Mirror Media, another Hong Kong publication, reported earlier this month that Lee had made a will to leave all her assets to her elderly mother.
For those unaware, Lee’s estate is estimated to be worth millions as she reportedly has more than HK$230 million (approximately SG$39 million) worth of properties.
