If Your Comb Looks Like This, You Need to Do What I Did

Some mornings, I brush my hair, look at my comb, and am convinced that I’m going to be bald by 50.

This is what my comb looks like:

It’s a strange cycle — I get stressed about work, I lose hair, I get stressed about losing hair, and lose even more hair.

But not all hope is lost. If your comb also looks like mine, you need to do what I did.

Tired of having my mind clouded by the idea of being bald by 50, I combed (pun not intended) through the internet and found the perfect hair and scalp clinic to help me with my hair loss predicament — TK Trichokare.

With multiple outlets islandwide, choosing a convenient outlet was far from an issue for me. I decided to commute to the TK Trichokare outlet located in Jurong Point, which is beside Boon Lay MRT station.

Upon my arrival at the clinic, I was greeted by the friendly staff and brought to a room where I filled in a questionnaire about my lifestyle and hair conditions.

The clinic staff also offered me a cup of tea to sip on while filling in the questionnaire.

Truly, the princess treatment I needed after a long day hunched over at my desk.

Tricho-Scan Scalp and Hair Analysis

After I filled out the questionnaire, Lyneryl came into the room to help me with my scalp and hair analysis.

You know those super close-up images you always see online of others’ scalps? That’s what the scalp and hair analysis is for — Lyneryl used the Tricho-Scan tool, which provides up to 200 times magnification, to show me the state of my scalp pre-treatment.

And let’s just say, things were worse than I thought.

While moving the Tricho-Scan tool through my hair for an in-depth inspection of my scalp and hair, Lyneryl patiently walked me through all the issues she spotted. As it turns out, I had clogged hair follicles and some grey hairs.

Rather hair-raising news, indeed.

And in case you were wondering, no, the image is not AI-generated. That’s how high-quality the imaging on the Tricho-Scan tool is.

Premium European Herbal Scalp Masque: Customised for Your Scalp and Hair Condition

Now that Lyneryl had diagnosed my scalp and hair conditions, she ushered me over to the treatment area and handed me over to Li Li, who would see me through the next few stages of the treatment process.

Perhaps Li Li saw how distraught I was after seeing the Tricho-Scan images — she brought me more tea and some tidbits to munch on. Of course, I wasn’t complaining about this.

As I munched on my biscuits, Li Li got down to work saving my scalp and hair by first applying a premium European herbal scalp masque all over my scalp. The masque was customised to target the issues identified during my scalp and hair analysis earlier.

The masque I got was the Intensive Active Mask, which contained ingredients like white clay, lactic acid, and vitamin E. The masque helps to remove impurities and excess sebum in the scalp.

After applying the masque, she even gave me a scalp massage. I knew I was in good hands lah.

The massage was so shiok that I nearly dozed off. It didn’t help that the clinic had classical music playing in the background — perfect for relaxing.

The masque was left to sit on my scalp for a short while so it could work its magic. Meanwhile, I caught up with some of my work. Perhaps this is why I’m losing hair…

Revitalising Hair Bath

Next, Li Li guided me to the washing station, which looked so posh that I had to whip out my phone to snap a photo of it.

As much as I loved the cooling effect of the masque applied on my scalp earlier, it unfortunately had to be washed out so that Li Li could shampoo my hair.

Li Li used the Revitalising Bath Shampoo on my hair. The shampoo contains ingredients like white clay, walnut leaf extract, and vitamin E, which help to moisturise hair and remove grease.

Much better than the random Shopee shampoos I use at home, of course.

It was at this point that I was surprised by yet another massage to really get those shampoo ingredients into my scalp. Once again, the massage was so shiok that I had to stop myself from dozing off…

After washing the shampoo away, Li Li then applied a conditioner — the CompleteKare Mask which contains ingredients like wasabi and argan oil — on my hair, before washing it out.

I think that glow in my eyes tells you everything you need to know about how good the treatment was.

MaxiKare Ampoule Application via OxyJet

Li Li then walked me back to my seat (or actually, with how well customers here are treated, perhaps I could even call my seat a throne) and put a heat pack on my shoulders, which helps with blood circulation.

After taking a few sips of my tea, Li Li applied some argan oil to my hair and dried my hair using Singaporeans’ favourite Dyson hair dryer. She explained to me that my scalp and hair had to be dry for the next stage of the treatment — the MaxiKare Ampoule Application via OxyJet — to work well.

Li Li started by applying the Follicle Enforcer Serum all over my scalp and once again, she did not miss an inch on my head. The serum contained ingredients such as saw palmetto, thyme, nettle, and burdock, all of which would do wonders for my scalp and hair health.

She then used her hands to massage the serum into my scalp, before proceeding to the next step — going over my scalp with the OxyJet.

You might be thinking: “What is an OxyJet?”

Well, it’s literally what it sounds like — a jet which infuses your scalp with pure oxygen. It helps to accelerate the scalp’s cell metabolism and improve blood circulation.

This is what the OxyJet looks like:

It lowkey looks like a tool straight out of a dental clinic, but trust me, it can be used on the scalp.

Li Li went over my entire head with the OxyJet, clipping my hair up along the way so she could really get the OxyJet straight into my scalp.

If you look closely at the GIF, you can see some of my finer hairs float up whenever the OxyJet is placed onto my head — that’s the oxygen infusion in action.

PhotoDynamic Therapy

And now, for the final stage of my treatment process — the photodynamic therapy.

When Li Li suddenly rolled out the photodynamic therapy machine, I thought it was something that came straight out of a Star Wars movie. She explained to me that the machine uses laser light technology to enhance blood circulation, assist in nutrient absorption, support hair regeneration in my scalp and accelerate scalp healing.

While the photodynamic therapy machine (or what I will now dub the Star Wars machine) was working to save my scalp, I got the opportunity to munch on the tidbits which the clinic staff brought over for me earlier.

A hair treatment can’t get much better than this lah.

Post-Treatment Analysis and Expert Advice

Before I concluded my treatment with TK TrichoKare, I met Lyneryl once again for my post-treatment analysis.

She picked up her handy-dandy Tricho-Scan tool again to show me how my scalp looked post-treatment. As you can see below, my scalp was looking much better after the treatment:

Can’t see? Here’s the image taken direct from the tool:

And lest you’ve forgotten how it looks like before the treatment, here’s the before and after comparison:

The treatment obviously helped a lot — my scalp felt a lot fresher, and as I ran my fingers through my hair, it felt a lot smoother too!

Lyneryl also gave me some advice on how to take better care of my scalp; advice that was very much needed, as someone who did not want to lose any more hair.

With any hope, my comb will start collecting less hair lah.
