Condo Guard Allegedly ‘Threw’ Food Delivery Rider’s Food on the Ground While Waiting for Customer to Collect

As Will Smith once said, “Racism isn’t getting worse, it’s getting filmed.”

During the circuit breaker, in between our binge-sessions on Netflix, we entertained ourselves with videos of Singaporeans fighting with each other; small verbal squabbles or full-blown fights.

It seemed like people were getting more feisty and aggressive because a scandal was cropping up every few days or so.

“Why are people so horrible nowadays?” we asked.

But maybe people were always horrible.

Maybe people aren’t getting worse, maybe they’re just getting filmed.

Condo Guard Allegedly ‘Threw’ Food Delivery Rider’s Food on the Ground While Waiting for Customer to Collect

A security guard at a condominium allegedly threw a food delivery rider’s food on the ground after a heated argument with the rider.

The incident occurred at The Linear condominium along Upper Bukit Timah Road on Thursday (June 4), at around 7pm, reported Stomp.

In a post on Facebook, 19-year-old food delivery rider Chloe Ho detailed her unsavoury experience with a delivery to the condominium.

In her post, Chloe claims that she had gone to the condominium to make a food delivery, but was “banned” by the security guard from entering.

So, she placed the food on a table nearby and called the customer to come down and collect their food.

But then she realised that the security guard had thrown the customer’s food on the ground, and it had landed on a patch of grass outside the premises.

“I stepped aside to call the customer to pick up their food. Next thing I know the food is on the grass outside,” she wrote.

The 19-year-old rider picked up her food and placed it back on the table, but the security guard threatened to throw it on the ground again.

Either this security guard has just discovered The Lonely Island’s Threw It On The Ground song, or he’s just an extremely unpleasant person.

Filmed Each Other

Chloe then started filming the security guard, telling him “Don’t block” and “I want see your face”.

The security guard blocked his face with his hand and said “What the f**k are you doing?”, and started filming her in return.

They were both clearly upset with each other.

Still, the question remains: why the heck was this guy so upset with this rider that he flung her food to the ground?

Scolded Her For No Reason

Speaking to Wanbao, Chloe said that the Linear condominium recently introduced new rules that required all delivery personnel to dismount from their bicycles and personal mobility devices first before registering their entry.

The 19-year-old rider said that she complied with this new rule.

However, when she tried to deliver her three boxes of desserts, the security guard started scolding her for no reason, which is why she chose to record him.

Chloe added that this was not her first dust-up with this security guard.

She had a quarrel with him a few days prior to this incident, though she can’t recall what exactly the dispute was about.

According to Wanbao, the security guard called the police after the altercation and officers soon arrived on the scene.

Reporters who visited the condominium claimed that the security guard declined to share more information about the incident, as the matter is currently under investigation.

Too Soon To Judge

As with many scandals on the internet, some netizens were quick to judge the security guard in the video.

Sure, throwing food to the ground is not exactly the best way to express your disapproval of someone’s behaviour, but we do not have enough information here to condemn the security guard or the 19-year-old rider.

So, let’s take a step back and let the authorities do their thing.

Maybe this whole thing was a result of a tiny misunderstanding.

Reader: Since when did you get so reasonable and logical? Arrest the guard! Burn down the condominium!

Why are you like this nowadays?

Reader: Oh I was always like this. Now, I’m just getting coverage.
