In desperate need of a vacation?
Well, if Germany isn’t on your travel bucket list, then you’ll have to wait till 19 Oct when our Vaccinated Travel Lane scheme will be extended to eight more countries, including Spain, the US, and the UK.
If you can’t wait one week – and I’d understand why – there might be an alternative out there.
And it’s right here in sunny Singapore.
IG-Worthy Container Hotels Open at Downtown East
Close your 15 tabs on Google Flights, pack your bags, and put on your face masks, because Singapore’s first-ever “roving concept container hotel” has opened up!
Operated by SgHotelOnWheels (SHOW), the container hotel is located at Downtown East @ Begonia Carpark.
The hotel has five 40-footer rooms and five 20-footer rooms, each with its own unique theme.
All rooms are equipped with smart appliances such as Daikin Smart Aircon, and smart television sets, as well as Google Home.
You might not be able to spot the rooms immediately upon arrival, though, as it looks like something you’d find at a shipping yard:
But as they say, you shouldn’t judge a container by its cover; have a look inside and you might be pleasantly surprised.
Here’s what the 20-footer rooms look like:
Resort Living:
Industrial Chic:
Modern Country:
Minimalist Classic:
Retro Mambo:
As you can see, all the rooms come with a queen-sized bed and dining table. It also has its own attached bathroom.
A one-night’s stay at a 20-footer room starts from $239 to $299, but is inclusive of a pair of Wild Wild Wet day passes.
If you want something a little bigger, you could opt for the 40-footer rooms, which come with their own kitchen, along with a queen-sized bed, a double sofa bed, a dining area, and a living room.
Here are the five 40-footer rooms you could choose from:
Stree Punk Studio:

Like what you see? Well, these rooms start from $359 to $439 per night and are inclusive of a pair of Wild Wild Wet day passes as well.
