Singapore is a country that is known to be weapon free. However, there are a few rare cases whereby offenders carry weapons around.
In a viral video on Facebook, Mohamed Danish Amsyar Ali Amran, who is 21, can be seen surrounded by officers, one of whom is pointing a taser at him.

He has since been arrested and charged.
What Happened
In a statement by the Singapore Police Force, it is stated that Danish ran away from the police after they had caught him with weapons at Bugis.
Upon giving chase to Danish, the police officers eventually managed to catch him at Bencoolen Street.
One officer pointed a taser at him and kicked his weapon away, while the other two slowly approached Danish to make the arrest.
Weapons Found During the Arrest
The weapon that Danish had on him was a 50cm retractable truncheon, which is more commonly known as a baton.
The other weapon, which is a grey knuckle-duster, was found inside Danish’s underwear after the arrest.
Offenders can be jailed up to five years and receive up to six strokes of the cane for possessing a scheduled weapon.
Apparently Failed to Report Back to Changi Prison
As part of his work release scheme, Danish was allowed to be released for work prior to the end of his prison sentence.

However, he failed to report back to Changi Prison Complex that night.
Furthermore, it is stated that Danish cut off his electronic monitoring system tag, also known as “tagging” to most people, and threw it away on 4 Aug.
In other words, other than carrying weapons, he was a wanted man.
