Couple Bravely Got Married With Erupting Volcano As The Backdrop

Throughout the course of history, humans have constantly proved one thing: big brains do not equate to high intelligence.

In other words, humans are dumb AF.

The stupidity of humans managed to stay under the radar but then social media came along and everyone realised that maybe humans aren’t the most intelligent species after all.

Couple Bravely Got Married With Erupting Volcano As The Backdrop

Unless you borrowed the Sensory Deprivator 5000 from Ted Moseby and have been using it for the last few days, you probably know that volcano Taal erupted in Manila, Philippines on Monday (13 Jan).

More than 16,000 people have been evacuated from the volcanic island as well as surrounding areas for safety reasons.

But what if you arranged a wedding near the eruption site? Surely you’ll cancel it because nothing is more important than your life, right?

Right?

One brave Filipino couple decided to go ahead with their wedding and get married while the volcano erupted behind them.

According to CNN, Chino and Kat Vaflor got married just 16km from the erupting Taal Volcano.

Randolf Evan the photographer, said that they were nervous and that they kept on checking social media for updates on the volcanic eruption while working.

“So we were actually aware of the warnings and escalating levels that were being announced real-time,” Evan told CNN.

“We also discussed discreetly among ourselves what we should do when worst comes to worst”, he added.

How much worse could it get than a goddamn volcano erupting behind you?

But it seemed that the erupting volcano was no match for the fiery love of the couple, as they still managed to exchange wedding vows and say: “I do”.

Beautiful photos

You know that friend on Instagram who dangerously sits on the edge of a cliff just for the likes even though he could die? You shake your head at his stupidity but the photos usually look pretty good.

Well, the same thing happened here. No one should ever get married near a volcano, but Evan did manage to take some glorious shots of the two as the Taal erupted in the background.

Yes, it looks cool, but please, for the love of God, do not go there for additional Instagram likes.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported that the volcano exhibited a “fast escalation” in volcanic activity. The continuous eruption generated ash plumes 6 to 9 miles above the crater, it said.

The agency raised its alert status to indicate the possibility of a hazardous eruption with lava within hours to days.

So, unless you want your last act on Earth to be drowning in lava while taking a selfie, I’d advise you to stay away from volcano Taal.
