Are you looking for some rejuvenating new ideas to implement during your upcoming wedding?
Well, the following article might just teach you a trick or two. 😉
On 7 July, Stomper Selina went down to her daughter’s wedding dinner, only to receive a rather ‘innovative’ surprise under her dinner plate:
An honest to goodness Toto slip.
Couple Gave TOTO Tickets for all Guests at Wedding Dinner & A Guest Won Something
According to Stomp, Stomper Selina was at her daughter’s wedding dinner on Sunday (7 July) at Conrad Hotel when the emcees mentioned a surprise under the guests’ plates at a welcome speech.
And the guests were allegedly pretty stoked upon the revelation too. In an exclusive interview, Selina reportedly told Stomp:
“All the guests were excitedly waving their tickets in the air after the emcees announced what the newlyweds had in store for them.”
In fact, according to the parent, one of the guests actually won a cool 50 bucks from the TOTO slip under her plate.
Well, that’s one person who recouped her losses for the night alright. 😉
Asian Parent TRIGGERED?
While some Asian parents would undoubtedly go apeshit when their children smuggle gambling tickets under the plates of guests, this particular parent evidently wasn’t one of them. Expressing full support for the idea, Selina raved over the pure freshness of it all.
“I was fully supportive of it. It’s a refreshing idea – to put TOTO slips under the plates and getting the guests excited and hopeful of winning a potential $4.2 million,” Selina said.
Well, I guess that’s one way to make a guest’s night.
Netizens speak out
As you might’ve somewhat expected, Netizens had something to say about this whole incident.
And well, it’s not all positive.
Some also questioned the news-validity of it all.
And contrary to what we might believe, the idea might not be so new after all.
One even raised a rather thought-provoking notion.
And another accused the masterminds of it all.
Also, this one has obviously watched too much MGAG.
Or Ryan Higa, whichever appeals to you more.
And so… what’s the deal here?
Well, as always I can only attribute this case to the ever-classic 50-50:
One half appreciates the idea; the other half doesn’t.
Though of course, what’s really important is that the guests enjoyed themselves at the wedding dinner that night.
What others think, outside of the auspicious occasion…
Shouldn’t matter at all.
Note: Let’s just hope that the wedding guests didn’t actually feel the same way as the Netizens on that night too.
Note 1: Imagine if the guests were so disgruntled they actually went to express their dissent on Stomp.
Note 2: Nah, that wouldn’t happen.
