Over the past year, we’ve heard a lot of examples of what you shouldn’t do during this pandemic.

The most recent cases being the Chinatown storekeeper and his son, and the 88 people caught in two police raids.

Well, if you, like us, have been thirsty for some good role models like 17 Feb’s community case, here’s one for you.

A COVID-19 Community Case Reported on 3 Mar is Another Example of What One Should Do When Sick

On 3 Mar 2021, 23 new COVID-19 cases were reported, two of them unlinked local cases.

One of the community cases is an 82-year-old Singaporean man.

Developed Symptoms

He developed symptoms – a runny nose, body aches and chills – on 14 Feb 2021.

He went to a general practitioner (GP) clinic on 22 Feb 2021 and was tested for COVID-19.

His test result returned negative.

Unwell Again On 1 Mar

On 1 Mar, because he was still feeling unwell, the man went to the doctor again.

This time, he tested positive for COVID-19 and was sent to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) the next day.

His serological result came back negative, indicating that he was likely suffering from a current infection.

Forgone Vaccination On Doctor’s Advice

The elderly man had booked an appointment for COVID-19 vaccination on 22 Feb 2021.

However, he didn’t proceed with it as he was earlier told by his doctor to postpone the vaccination if he was still unwell.

Which is applaudable, considering that the authorities have promised that they won’t reserve vaccinations for those who postpone it.

Also, just like him, you should always see a doctor if you experience symptoms, no matter how mild it is.

Details On Other Cases

The other community case is a 38-year-old permanent resident. She is an asymptomatic case and was detected when she took a pre-departure COVID-19 test on 2 Mar.

She was preparing for a trip to India.

When her result returned positive a day later, she was taken to NCID in an ambulance.

She is still awaiting her serological test results.

All close contacts of the cases have been isolated and put into quarantine.

Serological tests and COVID-19 tests will be conducted for them.

The remaining cases (21 of them) are imported cases, with 20 of them work pass holders and the remaining case a permanent resident returning from Indonesia.

All of the cases have been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore.

Several New Locations Added To MOH’s List Of Places Visited By Infectious COVID-19 Cases

The Ministry of Health (MOH) maintains a list of places that were visited by COVID-19 cases during their infectious period.

And on 3 Mar 2021, MOH added several places to the list, including Mustafa Centre, Sri Vadapathira Kaliamman Temple and Murugan Idli Shop.

You can view the full list below:

Of course, if you happened to be in the general vicinity in the same timeframe, don’t panic.
