While the number of COVID-19 globally is increasing exponentially, Singapore’s doing well so far, as the number of new cases reported daily stays low.
Though, of course, this could change as the global trend might affect us. According to the Minister for National Development Lawrence Wong, who co-chairs the multi-ministry task force spearheading the battle against the COVID-19 outbreak in Singapore, we should be “mentally prepared for the number of infected cases in Singapore to go up.”
But that spike hasn’t come today, for we have only two new confirmed cases today.
2 New COVID-19 Cases in S’pore Today (4 Mar); 1 Works in a Pre-school But Is Not a Teacher
The first patient is a 43-year-old Singapore PR who has been in Malaysia between 18 February to 21 February 2020. He had his symptoms on 24 February and went to a GP on that day and again on 28 February 2020. He was then in National University Hospital yesterday, whereby he was isolated and tested positive for the virus.
The second patient is a 62-year-old Singaporean who was confirmed to have the virus this morning and is now isolated in NCID.
While she works in a pre-school in International Business Park, Creative O Preschoolers’ Bay, she is a non-teaching staff. She is linked to Case 94, who’s linked to the RI student.
All in all, the total number of cases in Singapore now stands at 112.
Updates on Confirmed Cases
Out of the 112 confirmed cases, 79 of them have fully recovered and are discharged. 7 of them are still in ICU, while the conditions of the remaining 26 patients are either stable or improving.
