Well, I’ve got some great news for you:

Several Gov Centres Are Reopening from 2 June, Like HDB or CPF Centres

On 25 May, it was reported that some government service centres dealing with housing, employment pass and tax matters will be open in Phase 1 of the reopening.

But it doesn’t mean you don’t have to go online anymore.

These service centres will only meet with those who have made an appointment with them; in other words, no walk-ins.

PSD said that just like Singapore is gradually resuming its normal activities in three phases, they too will gradually resume physical touchpoints and facilities gradually and in phases.

“In tandem with the phased approach of resuming activities post-circuit breaker at the national level, the Public Service will similarly resume the delivery of services at physical service touchpoints and facilities gradually and in phases, in order to safeguard public health and minimise the risk of community transmission of Covid-19.”

News For NSMen

Well, this can come across as good news or bad news depending on what type of NSMan you are.

If you’re someone who consistently has to go RT, this is good; however, if you’re someone who looks forward to IPPT because you want that extra $500, sorry.

The rest of the government service centres, including the Fitness Conditioning Centres (FCCs) where NSMen take their IPPT and RT, will remain closed during Phase 1.

Don’t Be Too Happy Though

Because if all things go well, we could very well be in Phase 2 by 2 July 2020.

Previously, the health minister has said that Phase 1 will be in place for a minimum period of 28 days (2 incubation cycles).

Then, depending on the numbers and situation then, we could move on to Phase 2, or what some of my colleagues call, the real end of CB.

Judging by the importance of military service, we can probably expect FCCs to be open in phase 2.

Phase 2 is expected to spread over several months before we can even think about going into Phase 3.
