155 COVID-19 Cases Today (30 Aug); 147 Are Locally Transmitted Cases with 52 of Them Unlinked

A year ago, if we see this number, we’d probably go on Super Heightened Circuit Breaker, but now, it’s Monday.

As of 12pm today (30 Aug), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 155 new cases of COVID-19 infection.

147 of them are locally transmitted cases, a 52 are currently unlinked.

Based on yesterday’s number,  the number of new cases in the community has increased from 240 cases in the week before to 634 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also increased from 86 cases in the week before to 152 cases in the past week.

The 7-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 68.9 and 21.7 respectively.

Another COVID-19 Cluster Emerged in a Bus Interchange; Total of 7 Bus Interchange Clusters

The Boon Lay Interchange cluster is said to have had seven new cases yesterday (29 Aug). Its total tally currently stands at 15.

Apart from the Boon Lay Bus Interchange cluster, there were also confirmed clusters at the following sites:

  • Jurong East Bus Interchange
  • Clementi Bus Interchange
  • Punggol Bus Interchange
  • Toa Payoh Bus Interchange
  • Bishan Bus Interchange
  • Sengkang Bus Interchange

In total, 174 cases are linked to the bus interchange clusters. According to LTA, 120 bus drivers have been infected.

414 Cases in Hospitals; 8,684,484 COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Administered

414 cases are currently warded in hospital. There are currently 14 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and 6 in critical condition in the ICU.

Of those who have fallen very ill, 14 are seniors above 60 years, of whom 9 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

As of yesterday, there are currently 67 clusters, ranging between 3 and 1,155 infections.

As of 28 August 2021, we have administered a total of 8,684,484 doses of COVID-19 vaccines under the national vaccination programme (Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty and Moderna), covering 4,505,072 individuals, with 4,302,996 individuals having completed the full vaccination regimen.

In addition, 165,981 doses of other vaccines recognised in the World Health Organization’s Emergency Use Listing (WHO EUL) have been administered as of 28 August 2021, covering 85,557 individuals.

In total, 80% of our population has completed their full regimen/ received two doses of COVID-19 vaccines, and 83% has received at least one dose.
