10 COVID-19 Cases Today (29 Jun); 5 Are Community Cases With None Unlinked

After yesterday (28 Jun)’s positive COVID-19 numbers, I’m pretty sure we’re all looking for a repeat of that today.

I mean: a single-digit total number of community cases? Having no unlinked cases? Having more imported cases than community cases? Having the lowest number of community cases recorded in a day since 11 June?

Thankfully, it looks like our prayers have been answered.

As of 12pm today (29 Jun), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed ten new cases of COVID-19 infection.

Five are community cases, with none unlinked. The remaining five are imported cases.

This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 62,563.

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 103 cases in the week before to 86 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also decreased from 16 cases in the week before to 15 cases in the past week.

Community Cases Reported on 28 Jun Include A PUB Engineer & A TV Installer

Thankfully, none of the four community cases reported yesterday (28 Jun) were unlinked. The only cluster that grew yesterday is the one at 105 Henderson Crescent.

The sole case added to this cluster is a 60-year-old Singaporean who works at Lam Chuan Import-Export Pte Ltd. He was placed on quarantine on 26 June after being identified as a family member and household contact of previous cases.

He is asymptomatic, and was tested on 26 June during quarantine. His test result came back positive the next day. His serology test result is negative for the N antigen, which suggests the presence of early infection.

The man has been fully vaccinated, having received his first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine on 3 April and the second dose on 24 April.

The remaining cases that were reported yesterday (28 Jun) are:

  • Three new community infections with established links, including a 56-year-old man who works as an engineer at PUB (80 Toh Guan Road)
  • Five imported cases, including one who entered Singapore waters from Indonesia without valid documentation. He was arrested by the Singapore Police Force (SPF)’s Police Coast Guard (PCG), and tested for COVID-19 infection during isolation.

305 Active Cases

There are currently 135 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 3 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

170 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

36 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
