Yes, we finally have more than a hundred unlinked cases.
As of 12pm today (2 Sep), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 191 new cases of COVID-19 infection.
187 of them are locally transmitted cases, with 113 of them unlinked.
Based on yesterday’s number, the number of new cases in the community has increased from 335 cases in the week before to 845 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also increased from 112 cases in the week before to 253 cases in the past week.
The 7-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 84.6 and 36.1 respectively.
7 of 8 Existing Bus Interchange Clusters Grow, Amounting to Over 300 Cases
Numerous existing clusters grew yesterday (1 Sep), including seven of our eight existing bus interchange staff clusters.
The clusters are linked to:
- Tampines Bus Interchange staff – three new cases, 23 in total
- Jurong East Bus Interchange staff – two new cases, 28 in total
- Toa Payoh Bus Interchange staff – eight new cases, 93 in total
- Bishan Bus Interchange staff – one new case, 28 in total
- Punggol Bus Interchange staff – two new cases, 32 in total
- Clementi Bus Interchange staff – four new cases, 20 in total
- Boon Lay Bus Interchange staff – nine new cases, 66 in total
In total, there are now 314 cases linked to staff working at bus interchanges.
Several other clusters, including the one at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), grew as well. The clusters are linked to:
- IMH – six new cases, 14 in total
- North Coast Lodge – six new cases, 174 in total
- Case 69739 – three new cases, 7 in total
- Case 69690 – four new cases, 7 in total
The cluster linked to Bugis Junction had many additions as well; with nine new cases, it now has 233 infections in total.
Two new clusters were closed by MOH, meaning we now have 68 active clusters in the country.

499 Cases in Hospitals; 8,722,819 COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Administered
499 cases are currently warded in hospital. There are currently 22 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and 5 in critical condition in the ICU.
Of those who have fallen very ill, 18 are seniors above 60 years, of whom 9 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.
As of yesterday, there are currently 68 clusters, ranging between 3 and 1,155 infections.
As of 31 August 2021, we have administered a total of 8,722,819 doses of COVID-19 vaccines under the national vaccination programme (Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty and Moderna), covering 4,515,469 individuals, with 4,328,804 individuals having completed the full vaccination regimen.
In addition, 167,898 doses of other vaccines recognised in the World Health Organization’s Emergency Use Listing (WHO EUL) have been administered as of 31 August 2021, covering 85,786 individuals.
In total, 80% of our population has completed their full regimen/ received two doses of COVID-19 vaccines, and 83% has received at least one dose.
