There’s a saying:
“The higher you go in status, the harder it is to keep your feet on the ground.”
And to me, it resonates pretty well because why else would successful people be so prone to the saying:
“He let fame/money get to his head”…?
But of course, like all things there’ll always be that one exception in the background. Though in this case, it’s not so much of an exception but…
A golden rarity altogether.
Creative Technology
For the Chinese students, Creative Technology would perhaps be best associated with this particular gadget:
But for those unaware, Creative Technology is a Singapore-based global company headquartered in Jurong East, Singapore. The primary activities of the company and its subsidiaries comprise the design, manufacture and distribution of digitized sound and video boards, computers and related multimedia, and personal digital entertainment products.
And it’s certainly no small gimmick either, considering how it has crossed swords with Apple on not just one occasion, but multiple. Also, it should be noted that the CEO and Chairman himself, Sim Wong Hoo, has amassed a rather ludicrous amount of accolades throughout his career, one of which happens to be joining the billionaire’s club when he was just 45. So yeah…
Surprisingly, it’s actually a pretty big shot.
Is that why I’ve always felt so powerful when using my dic during Chinese exams? 😉
The big man taking charge
Recently, Creative Technology has been enjoying quite a fair bit of resurgence and relevancy, a notion that’s perhaps due to the company’s revolutionary Super X-Fi.
Basically, consumers take a picture of their face and ear shape on the Super X-fi app, which will then proceed to create the optimal listening experience through an artificial intelligence engine.
“We rarely see entrepreneurs like Sim who have the tenacity and determination to stay with their ideas against all odds." Chua Kee Lock shares his take on Sim Wong Hoo's comeback. https://t.co/6ocQxzxJcX pic.twitter.com/xdkrMyCSV7

Sounds dope? I think so too. And as implied earlier on I’m evidently not alone.
Naturally, with such a highly-rated product on the market, it would only make sense for the Super X-Fi to dawn on the near-compulsory IT Show.
But here’s the thing; consumers, as with all other techonological advances, might need some time and guidance to really get into the drift of it. Lest you’re wondering, I’m talking about employees who know what they’re talking about.
Who know what they’re doing.
Yet even so, I wouldn’t ever have expected the man himself to come down and help:
Sim Wong Hoo, billionaire and CEO to Creative Technology.
Spotted at the IT Show 2019 by Hardware Zone’s forum member Shooterskull, the unannounced visitor drew quite a lot of attention online. And to his credit…
There was quite a bit of respect too.
The first man who started the ball rolling was Shooterskull himself, chronicling a caption that reads: “Mad respect to the CEO for going down and literally talking to customers and selling them like a sales staff.” And suffice it to say that the ball just kept rolling and rolling.
Though it’s really kind of deserved, because c’mon;
If you were a billionaire, would you still come down for some grunt work?
Moral of the story?
Now I know it’s kind of a topic digression, but I just wanna say that Mr Sim has really taught us all a lesson here:
Always remember your roots…
Even if you’ve achieved the heights normal people could never imagine.
And with that in mind, kudos, Mr Sim. You’re truly a…
Golden rarity.
