In the early hours of last Saturday morning (23 Apr), Ms Maricris Abad Santos Albert, better known as Cris Albert, the Chief Executive Officer and President of FILA Philippines, was found dead in the Fullerton Bay Hotel.
She was 52 years old, the mother of two children, and a successful and prominent Filipino businesswoman who has helmed FILA Philippines since 2007, in conjunction with being the President of Isport Life and Athlete’s Gym & Drive, and the Founder of MA Holdings.
Her resume alone speaks volumes of what a remarkable woman she was.
The Discovery of Her Demise

Reportings of Her Death
On Monday (25 Apr), Fila Philippines confirmed her death in a Facebook post.
It writes: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing on Saturday, 23 April 2022, of FILA Philippines CEO and Owner, Ms. Cris Albert.
“Her family appeals to everyone to respect their privacy as they grieve in the time of immense loss.”
The news of her death had been circulating among the Filipino community on social media over the weekend.
The circumstances surrounding her death, however, still remain under the wraps as investigations are ongoing.
As for her funeral, FILA ends off the post with the promise that they will share the details of her wake soon.
Ms Albert was an influential figure in their community; she grew up surrounded by the fashion industry as her mother was a former supermodel and show choreographer.
The entrepreneur had followed in her mother’s footsteps, albeit in a different way, preferring the business side of things as she joined FILA as a marketing manager in 1992, after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
To Ms Cris Albert, may you rest in peace.
