Man Arrested After Speeding Car Caused Innocent Car to Flip
On 31 January 2021, the police were alerted to an accident on the Central Expressway (CTE).
In dashcam footage uploaded onto Facebook page SG Road Vigilante, a red car drove at high speed along the CTE on the leftmost lane towards Seletar Expressway (SLE) before the exit to Yio Chu Kang.
From the video, it looked like the red car has already lost control and rear-ended the blue car travelling in front of it.
According to the timestamp of the footage, the accident happened at 12.49am.
The video uploader, Mr Lam, is a Grab driver who was driving his passengers back to their destination, according to The New Paper.
He heard the sound of a speeding car coming up from behind him and slowed down to brace for impact.
Unfortunately, the blue car in front of him wasn’t able to do so.
In the aftermath of the accident, both the blue and red cars crash into the side of the road before coming to a stop.

Another person refused to be taken to the hospital, SCDF said.
It was reported that a 27-year-old male car driver was arrested for suspected drink driving.

Not only will you get into trouble, but you’ll also drag others down with you as well.
According to an SPF report, while the number of drink-driving accidents and arrests has decreased in 2020, compared to 2019, the number of fatalities from drink-driving accidents has increased by 50%.
