Crystal Jade Apologised & Refunded Customer After Mould Found on Its Birthday Cake

Imagine this: You decide to splurge on a cake because it’s your wife’s birthday and you want to celebrate this special day with a cake.

Most probably with her favourite flavour.

Except when you open up the box, this is how it looked:

Now, before you asked if this really happened in Singapore, it allegedly did.

And it’s from Crystal Jade My Bread at Takashimaya.

The couple who bought the cake said that when they opened to box, the cake looks “stale”, and the strawberries looked “spoiled and contaminated”.

They had originally wanted to remove the strawberries after the birthday celebration but realised that there was mould on the strawberries.

Angry and disappointed, the wife claimed she reported the incident to Crystal Jade but was even more disappointed by the company’s service and food quality.

Crystal Jade Has Responded

According to STOMP, a spokesperson from Crystal Jade said that they are aware of the incident and has touched base with the disgruntled pair.

It was added that they have offered the couple a full refund, which the couple has accepted.

They had also promised to make sure such incidents do not happen again.

Crystal Jade said that this is an oversight on their part in quality control and promise not to make the same mistake again:

We are aware of this incident and have already reached out to the customer to offer our apologies and a full refund.

“The customer has accepted our refund.

“We apologise and acknowledge that it is an oversight on our part with quality control, and have stepped up and enforced additional stringent measures to ensure that this will not happen again.”
