It’s been devastating to have to see familiar stores and brands in the retail sector we love closing down to mark the end of a horrifically historic 2020, as we’ve bid goodbye to Robinsons, Charlie Brown Cafe, Esprit, and many others.
However, looking on the bright side, all good things come to an end and we should just be thankful for what we have now.
So it’s time that we received some good news to reward ourselves for getting through this difficult year, and here it is – we’ll be entering 2021 with a new Daiso outlet in the West.

New Daiso Outlet
Daiso’s a brand that needs no introduction – having hailed from Japan, everyone simply loves it for the affordable price you have to pay at only $2 for every item without sacrificing quality, regardless of what it is.
Sometimes, you can even truly find gems there – not to mention you can buy quick and affordable gifts, too.
If you live in the West, it’s time to rejoice so loudly that I can hear you from the East.
The Japanese chain took to Instagram to share the happy news of their new store opening at West Coast Plaza on 2 Jan 2021, only the second day of the new year.
According to the post, the outlet will be located at #B1-33 to 45 near the entrance, just opposite of Toast Box.
Yep, the store will take up 13 unit spaces, a testament to how huge the store’s going to be, in addition to this photo showing the space:
As seen on the boards covering the store, it was originally supposed to make its grand opening in December 2020, but has since been pushed back to January.
Rather than ending off 2020 well, they must’ve decided to start off 2021 on a good note.

24th Outlet In Singapore
With the opening of the West Coast Plaza outlet just a month after their Canberra Plaza store opened on 18 December, this brings the total number of Daiso outlets in Singapore to 24.
Other outlets located at JCube, Bugis Junction, and Marina Square were also opened in recent months as the chain continued to grow here.
This new outlet’s also only the third outlet in the west alongside JCube and IMM’s, much to the delight of West-siders who don’t have to travel far to shop at Daiso now.
You can find other Daiso outlets near you here.
