I’ll be the first to admit this: with such frequent “Open House” by the NTUC Warehouse Club in which there would be free entry, I wonder if they should just keep the Warehouse Club open for all.
Here’s a brief context: Opened in late 2014, the large warehouse wholesale business is technically only open for members. At current rate, if you’re a Union member (you know, the NTUC card membership), it’ll cost $30 for two years. If you’re not, it’ll be $50 for two years.
This is a large discount from its initial launch, when it was $35 for a year or $50 for a year.
A colleague of mine who has been there (and the only reason why he’s there is that he used to live in Pioneer) says that the prices are really good – if you buy in bulk.
Discounts are about 20%, but some items can go up to 70%. But of course you’ll have to buy tens of every product, enough for you to feed a family for perhaps a year.
But from 18 April to 1 May 2018, you can shop in the warehouse even if you’re not a member.
Adding on to that, there are even discounts of popular brands up to 30% off.
You might not be able to see what’s on the lower bottom corner (because this is an app exclusive article and you’re certainly reading this on your phone), but here’s the gold in the deal: there’s also a promotion for membership, in which it’ll be $10 (NTUC members) or $20 (public) a year.
Adding to that is a baby fair that’ll end on 8 May instead.
If you’re looking to buy a shipload of groceries for your family, your extended family and the stray cats and dogs in your neighbourhood, this is actually a pretty good deal.
That is, even if you stay in Tampines (pump $10 will do; you might get $135 worth of petrol if you’re driving a BMW 5-series).
Promotion Period: 18 April to 1 May (Open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.)
Location: 1 Joo Koon Circle, Level 3, Singapore 629117 (Just next to Joo Koon MRT Station)
Now you know where buy cheap stuff today. Come on back tomorrow for more deals!
