You know the drill.
You’ve finally touched down from your flight at Changi Airport, you head to the washroom to freshen up, and you are all prepared to meet your loved ones who have been waiting for almost an hour.
BUT HOLD UP.
You spotted DFS. Then you’ve decided to make your loved ones wait a little longer as you start shopping for some wine, for yourself.
Goodbye DFS
As many of you will have known by now, DFS will be shutting their liquor and tobacco stores by 8 June 2020 as it was “not a financially viable option” to stay in Changi.
But that’s not the only new thing about DFS.
An Online Platform Launched
To all my alcoholic kakis out there, in case you are getting kanchiong about not having any more cheap alcohols – hold your horses.
DFS Group and Changi Airport Group have launched an online platform so that you alcoholics, who have no time to travel, are able to purchase tax and duty-absorbed alcohol too!
But only for champagnes, wine and sake la.
After all the platform name is ishopchangiwines.com, not ishopallchangialcohol.com.
So if you’re thinking of getting your Johnnie Walker or Jack Daniel’s, maybe go treat your friends who are going on a holiday to a meal and ask them to help you buy?
Exclusives & Free Delivery
To be fair, DFS has included exclusive wines into the list.
I went to see-see look-look a little, and they do look pretty exclusive and atas to me.
You can also purchase up to 30L of tax and duty-absorbed beverages a day, and have FREE DELIVERY for purchase above $150.
As for purchase that is below $150, you can collect it at Terminal 3, Level 1 Arrival Hall (Near Paris Baguette).
Wine and Sake Frenzy
If in any case, you’re lacking “Vitamin Wine” and that 30L is not enough for you, you can simply fill in another name and mobile number during checkout. Just make sure that person is above 18 years old.
DFS Group has also said that this platform is managed by Changi itself, not them. So they are unclear as to whether this platform will continue after June 2020.
Fingers crossed, but for now, time to clear some shelving space for all the wine and sake.
BUT DON’T OVER-DRINK AH!
