Remember Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen? I grew up reading their books and I must say, I did enjoy the books because they were so cute. However I didn’t really bother much about them after I grew up. Did you?
Well, I was curious one day so I decided to see what these famous twins were up to. What I found out is indeed quite… surprising and pleasant.
This was them then.
Born in 1987, the fraternal twins became famous when they starred in TV series Full House. 29 years later, they’re still as cute, but much prettier and more successful.
That’s right, they’re already 29 years old.
Previously actresses, the twins have gone on to dabble in the fashion industry. Mary-Kate was declared a fashion icon by NY Times. You know, for her signature “homeless” look.
They also had a clothing line for young girls, and made the headlines when they signed a pledge to allow the female workers who work for them to take full maternity leave.
They launched their own fashion label called The Row and another clothing line inspired by their vintage pieces, called Elizabeth & James.
Recently in 2013, the twins launched another clothing line in Oslo, Norway. They were awarded the title of Womens Wear Designer of the Year twice, in 2013, and 2015.
In 2014, they were named Accessories Designer of the Year for their work with clothing line The Row.
Enough about awards. Let’s talk about something that might just be equally impressive.
They’re known as the 11th richest women in entertainment according to Forbes. They have a total net worth of $100 million. That’s right, a 100 million dollars.
Mary-Kate got married in November last year to Olivier Sarkozy who is the half brother of former French President Nicholas Sarkozy. That’s a lot of prestige there!
Ashley Olsen on the other hand is said to be dating film director Bennett Miller. She had also filed a $40 million lawsuit against a tabloid magazine in 2005 which depicted her as part of a drug scandal.
Looks like we sure have lots to catch up on with the Olsen twins!
