Dogs are Man’s best friend. We enjoy the company and comfort that they offer.
Thus, when they are gone, we can’t help but feel worried and anxious.
Strayed Sausage
On Monday (21 November), a Facebook user by the name of Joey Rylie Ng took to the social media platform to call on viewers to help find an emaciated dachshund.
On the “Lost and found pets in Singapore” group, Ms Ng said that a friend had sent her a photo of the sausage dog the night before. It looked to be “in a bad shape” and “would probably require medical attention”.
Thus, on Monday, she went around the Bishan Ang Mo Kio park area to find the dog, but to no avail.
She also stated that she did not know whether the dog, who is male with brown and white patches on its body, was lost or abandoned.
Since Monday, the post has gathered over 550 shares and 116 comments. Many Facebook users expressed their concerns in the comments, saying that the dog look “poor” and “pitiful”.
$500 Reward for Finding
There are many in search of this tiny dog.
Volunteers have prepared a poster, offering a reward of $500 to anyone who manages to find it.
Additionally, a WhatsApp group was created for interested volunteers to join.
As of Wednesday (23 November), the dog was still not found.
Ms Ng shared that the last seen location of the doggo was along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1, near the park.

Likely Abandoned?
Some sharp-eyed detectives in the comments section deduced that the dog was likely abandoned because it had an expensive Merle coat.
How was this conclusion made?
Having a rare Merle coat meant that the dog itself was worth a lot of money (in the high 4-figures or even 5-figures range). If it were a lost dog, its owners would have already sent out a notice for its search on social media.
Thus, it probably had health issues and was abandoned.
We hope that the pet can be found and restored back to health soon.
