Every single time I walk into VivoCity, the first thing I’ll smell is the glorious sweet golden buttered popcorn wafting from Golden Village, and it always makes me crave for popcorn.
MMMM.
But you know, the desire’s not enough to go buy tickets to watch a movie just so I can enjoy popcorn.
(Look, I know you can buy food from the food concession counter without buying a movie ticket but… no feel la.)
At those moments, I just wish free popcorn would fall from the sky so I don’t have to open my wallet to get some, as tempting as that smell might be.
But if you’re also like me, read carefully because I’ve figured out a solution…
Eureka!
No, I’m not masquerading as Einstein or acting smart.
Eureka’s Giving Out FREE POPCORN!
Yep, you read that right, FREE.
It’s been almost two years since the Malaysian brand crossed the Causeway to our shores and started up here, and in lieu of their second anniversary, they’re going to give away popcorn absolutely free of charge.
Where: VivoCity outlet
When: 22 May – 26 May, at 11 am and 6 pm.
Kiasu People First
The good news is that no purchase is required to redeem the free popcorn! YAY!
But there’s also not-so-good news which is kind of obvious – the free popcorn is only limited to the first 100 redemptions at the respective timeslots.
So if you wanna grab some, make sure that you’re there early!
Deals Galore
It’s going to be a whole popcorn festival at this rate.
VivoCity’s outlet just opened on the 22nd, which is the first day that the free popcorn giveaway started on.
So naturally, there would also be special opening promotions ongoing at the same time, in case the free popcorn is so good that you actually wanna buy more.

This one really cannot say bojio already.
Better Than The Movies
There’s a reason why Eureka’s popcorn tastes and looks and feels different from the ones you usually eat in cinemas. They actually use special non-GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) corn kernels to make their popcorn, referred to as Mushroom Popcorn.
No, there are no mushrooms in it – these kinds of popcorn just look like a round ball when popped, as compared to the usual butterfly shape of regular popcorn. It’s ideal especially for gourmet popcorn, where sugar, butter and the likes can be coated on it easily.
And the best part is, there are no annoying leftover kernels in these babies! You don’t need to scramble in the dark for tissue to spit them out every five minutes while the movie is still playing in the background.
Just be prepared to scramble together in a long queue with some kiasu aunties, the same ritual as with everything that is given out free in Singapore.
