Yes, it’s time to bring that kampung spirit back!
Unlike our parent’s generation, we are more familiar with the concrete jungle that is Singapore today.
Sadly, it also led to a more individualistic society where neighbours are no longer as close to one another as it was back in the 90s.
That’s why your parents always say, in those days…
Well, guess what? A website, kiasuparents.com, wants to reignite the kampung spirit within this little red dot.
And the way to do it? By organising a “confirm-win” photo story competition.
Kampung Spirit Photo Story Competition
All you got to do is to share a picture of you with your children (or you and your parents) from now till 21 June 2017.
Each photo must be accompanied with a story to share their parenting experience.
How to Join
To submit, you simply need to share your entries on social media (Facebook or Instagram) and hashtag it: #KiasuParents, #KindredSpiritParents, #AXA and #FlyingCape.
Then, just ask all your ah gong, ah ma and the entire kampung to help ‘Vote’ for your photo on the site here.
$10,000 cash prizes have been set aside for the winners and 100 entries will be shortlisted based on the number of ‘Likes’ their photos garner.
Public voting for the entries will start from 23 June 2017 all the way to 9 July 2017.
Winners will be chosen based on a combination of popularity votes and organisers’ judging scores. To sweeten the deal, people who voted for the winning entries stand a chance to win prizes too!
A prize giving ceremony cum photo exhibition will be held on 15 July 2017 at Lattice80, #08-01, 80 Robinson Road.
So why confirm win?
I’ve been to look through the site and if my maths never fails me, there are lesser than 100 entries right now.
So just join lah! Just make sure you don’t snatch a random kid off the street for the photo. Police will still catch you.
Don’t say I bojio hor! You’re welcome!
