If you’ve not makan-ed in any Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert outlet, you’re missing out in life.
Like, seriously. ‘Coz the first time I ate there, I fall in love with the food and the friendly auntie servers immediately.
Lest you’re not aware, Sheng Kee Dessert is usually not in a stand-alone enclosed restaurant, but at an open-area in a mall.

Usually at the basement of a mall with takeaway F&B establishments as its neighbours, it would be slightly cramped and everyone who walks pass you can see what you’re eating.
But for that little inconvenience, you can have an affordable and delicious meal.
And if you’re still thinking that they sell merely desserts, you’re more than wrong.
Here, take a look at their extensive menu:
You can check out their full menu in their website.
Of course, they’re also popular for their desserts that come in rather Instagram-worthy bowls:
If you’ve not tried them before, I highly recommend their Braised Pork Belly with Mui Choy Rice, their SK Signature Combination Noodle (go for the dry one, please) and HK Carrot Cake (this is a MUST-TRY).
But seriously, nothing tastes better than free food, and lo and behold: on 10 October 2018, between 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., your wish is granted.
Because it’s Sheng Kee Dessert’s inaugural “Free Wanton Mee Day” (yay, that means next year also got liao).
Sheng Kee Dessert’s “Free Wanton Mee Day”
On 10 October 2018 (which is a Wednesday, BTW), Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert will be organising its very first “Free Wanton Mee Day”.
Wantonful right?
Free bowls of Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert’s signature Wanton Mee (yeah, the one that I suggested earlier on) will be offered at all outlets island-wide. Noodle lovers will be able to partake in Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert’s iconic Wanton Mee…for free.
There is no limit to the number of times a person can get back in line, so get your tummies ready.
According to Sheng Kee Dessert, this celebration has been months in the making.

The Wanton Mee features fresh Prawn and Kurobuta Pork filled wantons, imported Hong Kong Egg Noodles and specially-concocted Jinhua Ham soup.
There would be more than 3,000 bowls of free Wanton Mee during this two-hour period.
“We believe Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert have a group of loyal supporters and we want to take this opportunity to have fun as well as thank our fans with their favourite Wanton Mee,” said Mr Jack Tan, Executive Director of Select Group (yeah, I only knew that they’re under the Select Group after receiving their media release, too).
He added, “We invite all our customers to join us on ‘Free Wanton Mee Day’, and allow us to show them how much we appreciate them and we look forward to continuing this tradition every year!”
As a Sheng Kee Dessert fan, I’d have gone for it if not for the fact that it’s working day.
