Are you a big fan of eco-friendly products?
Or rather, are you a big fan of overpriced Starbucks merchandise?
Well, you’re going to want to prepare your wallet for this because Starbucks is launching a new eco-friendly collection and it includes collapsible cups and lunchboxes!
Collapsible Cups
If you’re the type to always bring around a bottle with you, you would probably be familiar with the fact that it can sometimes get a little annoying to carry around.
Of course, being the eco-friendly person you are, you wouldn’t indulge in disposable cups, so you choose to carry it around even though you have already finished your drink.
And sure there exist collapsible cups but it’s difficult to find one of the right size that you really like. Plus, Starbucks tumblers are waaayyy cooler.
So Starbucks came up with a solution and they collaborated with collapsible cup maker stojo once again to bring to us some cups that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
The cups come in two different sizes – 16oz (~470ml) and 24oz (~700ml).
For the smaller cups with a capacity of 16oz, there are six colours to choose from. You can go for the mint, pastel blue, navy blue, olive, yellow or red. These cups will be available for purchase at $29.90.
For the larger cups with a capacity of 24oz, you can choose either the pink one or the black one. Of course, with larger capacity comes a higher price. The bigger cup is yours for $39.90 each.
Starbucks did not reveal how big the cups are once they are collapsed, but according to Stojo’s website for their own cups, here are the dimensions:
- 16oz
- Height expanded: 5.5″ (14cm)
- Height collapsed: 2″ (5cm)
- 24oz
- Height expanded: 6.1″ (15.6cm)
- Height collapsed: 2.5″ (6.4cm)
I remember the last time Starbucks collaborated with Stojo and it sold out almost immediately, so if you want to get yours, make sure you do it fast before the stock runs out again!
Collapsible Lunchboxes
Have you always wanted to meal prep so that you can save some money when you go to school or head to work?
Or perhaps you just want to watch your diet and eat some healthy food by cooking your own food?
But you realise that it’s difficult because of the hassle of lugging around a big lunchbox to and fro?
Fret not because Starbucks is collaborating with Lexngo, a Hong Kong-based home and kitchen product designer.
They’re known for their collapsible lunchboxes that are made with food-safe silicone. These lunchboxes are microwave and dishwasher friendly and are very convenient.
The new collection of lunchboxes are available in three colours – navy blue, mint, and pink.
Each set comes with a 3-in-1 spork which is inclusive or a spoon, fork, and knife. If it was made to be similar to Lexngo lunchboxes, the spork can be conveniently stored inside the airtight lid. This would also mean that it is microwave and dishwasher friendly, so you don’t have to worry about bringing your food to work.
Please note that if you do intend to microwave, you must remove the lid before microwaving.
This is also priced at $29.90.
This collection will be made available at all Starbucks outlets from tomorrow, 2 December 2019, onwards. So get ready to queue if you’re intending to buy them!
