The beginning of February early, in fact.

Here’s what you’re getting for the CNY buffet:

The All-Important Yu Sheng

You’ve got to have yu sheng during Chinese New Year. That’s a must.

Now, while most of us are able to eat yu sheng, we don’t like everything that goes into one.

Some of us prefer the crunchy bits, and by that, I mean the golden pillows. Some only like the carrot and red ginger while others might prefer the white radish stripes.

Whichever it is, what if I tell you that you can decide what goes into the yu sheng yourself?

That’s exactly what Ginger at PARKROYAL on Beach Road is giving to you.

They have a counter where you can choose what goes into your yu sheng. And instead of raw sashimi fish (not everyone can take that), they’re giving you smoked salmon instead.

Baby Abalone Fried Rice

You’ve tried salted egg fried rice, tom yam fried rice, olive fried rice, but how about baby abalone fried rice?

During Chinese New Year, it’s said that you’ve got to eat premium stuff so that the rest of your year’s going to be huat.

And nothing’s more awesome than the baby abalone fried rice where you’ll get baby abalone with every single bite.

If you tio 4D four times in a row right after, it’s probably because of the baby abalones.

Baby Lobster with Abalone Sauce

If you’ve gone to Ginger @ PARKROYAL on Beach Road buffet before, you’ll know that one of the most popular items on their menu is the mentaiko lobster.

For this Chinese New Year, they’re changing things up by offering something new that’s just as good.

According to one lucky dude who managed to try it, the lobsters feature a subtler taste compared to the mentaiko version but it’s just as good for people who have a lighter palette.

Braised Pork Trotter with Vinegar and Ginger

Okay, the name sounds chim but here’s what you’re actually getting.

Tender pork steeped in herbs and vinegar.

But don’t worry if you’re not a fan of vinegar. The taste of vinegar’s subtle enough to be accepted by most people.

Roasted Suckling Pig with Kumquat Compote

No Chinese New Year is complete without having a suckling pig in some form. At Ginger@PARKROYAL on Beach Road, you’re getting the complete form.

Think crispy skin with savoury pork slices.

But unlike normal suckling pigs, the Kumquat Compote provides a refreshing balance with the flavourful pork.

Bakkwa With Pineapple Salad

When it comes to Chinese New Year, you can’t say you’ve celebrated it until you’ve eaten at least one piece of bakkwa.

After your yu sheng, remember to grab a few of their bakkwa with pineapple salad to start things off.

Imagine the sweet taste of bakkwa combined with the tanginess of pineapple. Salivating now? Now multiply the taste by 10 times and you’re probably getting close to how it tastes.

And There’s More

If you’re thinking…is that all?

No, it isn’t.

Their normal buffet lines are still operating as normal.

I’m talking about the fresh prata section

Fresh seafood.

Grilled seafood.

Your favourite crabs.

And more!
