Tired of going to the library and borrowing books with unidentifiable stains? Also, why is it moist and what the hell is that smell?
Well, if you’re a book lover and a skinflint like me, you’ll love what Times has in store for you.
Moving out sale
In a Facebook post on Singapore Atrium Sale, Times Bookstore announced on its shopfront that they will be having a closing-down sale from now till 22 September.
Yes, it’s that word that brings out the inner cheetah in us Singaporeans.
SALE.
For members, books are up to 50% off, while it’s 30% off for non-members.
And yes, moving out means everything must go.
There’s nothing quite like a new book. The smell of fresh print coupled with the shiny, clean new cover can’t be beaten.
In the age of smartphones and the internet, it’s easy to scroll our time away online, feeding our brains vacuous social media posts because it gives us instant gratification.
Books are like broccoli for our brains. It may take some effort to consume it, but it’s incredibly beneficial for us.
So, get a move on! Your favourite Murakami book might be snapped up faster than a new PMD catches fire.
And if this sounds like déjà vu, it’s because the last two MPH bookstores are closing down as well, with one outlet having a promotion of up to 50% as well until this Sunday.
You might want to take some images of bookstores now, if not your grandkids might have difficulties visualising a bookstore.
